WWI Trench Environment

This environment is inspired by World War I trench warfare and was created entirely in Unreal Engine 5. The goal was to recreate a dark, rainy, and immersive atmosphere with a strong emphasis on lighting, material definition, and environmental storytelling.
The scene is fully optimized for real-time visualization and game-ready use, built entirely using modular assets for maximum flexibility and performance. All meshes were composed manually and assembled using a kit-based workflow, making it easy to extend or adapt the layout.

A custom dynamic water material was developed, featuring animated normals, vertex-painted floating vegetation (duckweed), and pixel depth effects to simulate surface variation, wetness, and atmospheric interaction. The material is fully parameterized and previewed via dedicated Blueprint instances, allowing contextual testing and real-time customization.
The breakdown includes asset layout, material instance previews, and wireframe renders for topology evaluation.
